ANAND SHARMA TO ADDRESS INDUSTRY CAPTAINS AT CHANDIGARH TOMORROW – TO INAUGURATE IIUS CLUSTER AT BADDI – CEOs MEETING IN SHIMLA ON MAY 8

Shri Anand Sharma, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, will be visiting Chandigarh on 7th May and to Baddi and Shimla on 8th May, which is the first-ever high level meetings to be held in both the places.
Shri Sharma will address at the Interactive Session with the captains of Industry of Northern Region, which is being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on 7th May, 2010 at Chandigarh.
On 8th May 2010, the Minister will be inaugurating IIUS (Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme) at Pharmaceuticals & Allied Industries Cluster, Baddi, Barotiwala District – Solan. This would be the first project under the IIUS in the State of Himachal Pradesh. IIUS was launched in 2003 as a central sector scheme to enhance international competitiveness of the domestic industry by providing quality infrastructure through Public Private Partnership in existing functional clusters. The special feature of this initiative is that the scheme is implemented through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) at the individual cluster level so as to ensure that the infrastructure upgradation / development is user-driven.
Shri Sharma will also be addressing the Round Table with CEOs organised by CII on 8th May at Shimla.
